Bridle Belt (multiple colours)
Bridle Belt (multiple colours)
*Please carefully read sizing notes below before placing your order.
The Gusset Leather belt is made from 9-10oz vegetable tanned Bridle leather cut to a 1.25” width. The edges are beveled, dyed, and burnished smooth and the end is finished with a traditional English Point.
I fit all belts with a #49 roller buckle because I find this buckle offers the best combination of durability and comfort. You may, however, request a specific style of buckle via custom order if you prefer or have a belt made for a buckle you already have.
Standard sizing will include 5” of adjustability (2 holes on either side of center) unless otherwise specified. Your measurement will apply to the center hole in the billet end of the belt. See below for examples of how to calculate your belt size.

**If the belt is a gift and you would like it to be a surprise but you are unsure about sizing I always recommend gifting the belt unsized and having the recipient come by to have it sized after receiving it.
**If you request local pickup, you may have the belt sized upon pickup to ensure greater accuracy. This process takes about 5 minutes and it is the best option to provide you with the best possible fit.
If you are unable to have the belt sized upon local pickup, here are a few methods I would recommend for calculating your belt size, listed in order of accuracy:
Take a belt you already wear and measure from the end of the buckle to the current hole you are using. This is the most accurate way to make sure you get a belt that fits you perfectly. This measurement method accounts for the stretch in the belt, the non-linear shape of the belt, and the way the belt forms to your waist. In some cases there will be a discrepancy in size due to the thickness of material on each belt, however, this generally doesn’t amount to more than a 3/8” difference.
Measure the circumference of your waist. This can be somewhat accurate, but given that your belt will not necessarily fit around your waist the same way that a tape measure does there is still room for a fair bit of discrepancy. The natural shape of a belt is not straight - for most people it will be a slight U shape - and the thickness of the belt material will increase the outer circumference as compared to a tape measure. If you choose to measure your waist, try feeding the tape measure through your belt loops to make sure you measure the correct height for your waist-line or take a string and pull it around your waist with your current belt on already.
Pant size does generally correspond to belt size. For men’s pant sizes, the length from the end of the buckle to the center hole of the belt strap will be the pant size plus 4”. That said, pant sizing will vary depending on how the pants are worn (waistline height, looseness, etc.) and often there will be major differences in the same sizes from different stores. It is nearly impossible to narrow down these factors and consequently this is the least accurate method for sizing your new belt.
